Reporter, NewsChannel 21
In middle school, I realized I wanted a job that would be different each day, where I could continue learning for the rest of my life. One night, while watching KGW's Tracy Barry on the news, everything clicked and a reporter was born. So here I am, starting my career in beautiful Central Oregon in September 2012.
I grew up in Toutle, Washington --the "home" of Mount St. Helens - -and a small town with no traffic lights and a close community.
After high school, I headed south to Vancouver, Wash., where I attended Clark College on a track and field scholarship. After finishing my associates degree, I left my Clark Penguins and became a Cougar.
I graduated from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. I majored in Broadcast News and Political Science. While in school, I was a reporter, producer and anchor at WSU’s very own Cable 8 News. I also was a member of Model United Nations and news editor at The Independent.
After college, I moved to Bend to start my internship at KTVZ. After falling in love with the area, I was fortunate enough to get hired once my internship ended and join the awesome NewsChannel 21 team!
As an outdoor junkie, I couldn’t be happier to work and play in Central Oregon. I love hiking, biking, skiing, soccer and anything in the water. I’m addicted to Taylor Swift, sour cream and my rain boots. And after a life of rain in Washington, it’s good to call Bend home!
