Reporter, Weekend Anchor/Producer, NewsChannel 21

I moved to Central Oregon in August of 2010, ready to get out of the Arizona heat and ready to start a new adventure.

I was hired as the Weekend Anchor/Producer and weekday reporter. I was excited to experience all sides of the news business that I had studied in my four years in school, and dreamed of since I was a child, even "anchoring" our morning news in the seventh grade.

I graduated magna cum laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. While in school, I was part of the student-run newscast, Cronkite NewsWatch that aired live on PBS. I anchored one live show a week and reported on various stories including protests of controversial immigration issues.

While in Phoenix, I also had the opportunity to intern at Sonoran Living Live, a morning show on KNXV ABC 15. At my internship I worked alongside Emmy Award-winning producers, hosts and photographers. They taught me how to write scripts, teases and shoot and edit video. They also showed me the hard work and dedication it takes to be a part of the news industry.

I continue to learn and grow every day, and I am thankful that I can call Central Oregon my home. When I'm not working, you can usually find me hiking the beautiful trails, trying new restaurants, floating the Deschutes River or getting lost in a great book.
