Now Your Dog Can Play at Mt. Bachelor, Too

Lots of Central Oregon dogs love to romp and play in the snow -- their owners, too. Now there's a new way to do both together, on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor.
Ruffwear, a Bend firm that calls itself "the leading producer of high performance dog gear," and Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort recently opened an off-leash dog area adjacent to the resort?s West Village parking area.
"Ruffwear is sponsoring the dog park as part of the company?s mission to support local dog-friendly initiatives," a news release said.
?We?re excited to introduce the Ruffwear Dog Park at Mt. Bachelor as a safe, maintained and specific area where dog owners can take their pets while visiting Mt. Bachelor as opposed to running free in the lots creating a safety and sanitary issue from dog owners not cleaning up after their pets,? said Andy Goggins, Mt. Bachelor?s director of marketing and communications.
?The Ruffwear Dog Park will have everything from Ruffwear dog toys, a groomed ?snow-play? area, and dog waste bags and garbage to better manage and confine dogs visiting Mt. Bachelor to one area of the lot,? Goggins said.
The Ruffwear Dog Park is located at the far west end of the West Village parking area. Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort guests are encouraged to take advantage of the Ruffwear Dog Park and let their four-legged friends run free!
