A run and walk benefiting Camp Fire Central Oregon.

BEND, Ore. -

Campfire Central Oregon is in need of funds, volunteers and even kids, and on Sunday, volunteers held a fund-raiser to raise that awareness.

The Ignite Change walk and run is now in its second year.

The fund-raiser used to be a golf tournament, but organizers wanted to make it more family-friendly.

Kids could participate in the walk or run, and even enjoy a kids area with an obstacle course.

Campfire kids learn about being a good citizen and stewards of the environment.

Sunday's event was aimed at helping to keep the program going.

"Our motto is to give service. We do all kinds of service projects that's really good for kids," said Cece Valceschini, program adminstrator for Campfire Central Oregon. "We do day camp at Tumalo State Park that's great for kids."

"They turn out like all these teens that put this on today. They all started like kindergarten or first grade, and it's great leadership experience, and it's just a fun thing to do."

Right now in Central Oregon, there are 200 kids participating, but officials hope to see that number increase to 400. If you would like to volunteer or get your kids involved you can do so by logging onto www.campfireusaco.org

The program is all volunteer driven and there is always a need for more.

On October 26th the organization is throwing together a halloween family bingo night at High Desert Middle School starting at 6 p.m.
