La PINE, Ore. -

A Montana man wearing a beanie with the word "WEED" written on it was arrested Friday afternoon during an Oregon State Police traffic stop on Highway 97 north of La Pine when a trooper found more than six pounds of marijuana hidden in the car, troopers said Saturday.

OSP's Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the trooper pulled over a 1999 Toyota Camry with Montana license plates for a lane-change traffic violation northbound on Highway 97 near milepost 158.

As the trooper approached the car, he saw the driver and lone occupant, Ali Reza Tabibnejad, 32, of Missoula, Montana, was wearing a black beanie cap with the word "WEED" on it.

An investigation during the traffic stop led the trooper to discover and seize over six pounds of marijuana concealed in the car. Troopers estimated the value of the seized marijuana at $15,000.

Tabibnejad was arrested and taken to the Deschutes County Jail in Bend, where he remained held late Saturday on drug possession and delivery charges. Bail was set at $30,000.
