REDMOND -

The city of Redmond is working to increase opportunities for Redmond residents to walk or ride their bike to destinations in the community.

With the goal of increasing the number of people who are walking and biking in the next 10 years, the Redmond Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is working on a series of recommendations for the Redmond City Council relative to the types of infrastructure needed to support residents (i.e., bicycle lanes on the street or separated bike paths), as well as an educational and awareness campaign of where the trails in Redmond exist.

To do so, the City of Redmond needs to understand who is riding and biking in Redmond today – their age, comfort with riding and walking in Redmond, and where they are riding and walking.

As such, the Redmond Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will be conducting the first-ever Redmond bicycle and pedestrian counts this September and is seeking volunteers to help with the count!

We need volunteers for two hour shifts at designated locations to count users on Thursday, September 11th from 3:30 pm-5:30 pm and Saturday, September 13th from Noon to 2pm.  Training and safety gear will be provided.  Volunteers will be treated to a free pizza party!  The eventual goal is to count the same locations multiple times per year, so there will be more opportunities to volunteer in the near future.

It’s easy to volunteer one of two ways:
