Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., questioned contractors on Affordable Care Act Website at Thursday hearing on Capitol Hill

Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) and his colleagues on the House Energy and Commerce Committee continued their oversight of the health care law Thursday by holding a hearing with several of the top contractors responsible for the many technology failures that have defined the rollout of the law and its website,

Click here to watch Walden question the contractors about why they were not prepared to launch the systems on October 1.

Walden asked the contractors why the systems hadn’t been properly tested before launch. The contractors admitted that the system was only tested two weeks before the launch, and that they would have preferred months to properly test the site.

Reacting to this, Walden said, “I am very disturbed that CMS did not give you the adequate time that would be an industry standard to test this before every American says, ‘OK, they tell me it’s ready. I’m ready to go.’ You all came here and told us — and through us, the American people — that this was good to go, and it wasn’t.”
