There's "oops." And then there's "OOPS."

We're guessing someone at Britain's Royal Liverpool University Hospital is in hot water after a man scheduled to undergo minor surgery was given a vasectomy by mistake.

Doctors tried to reverse the blunder, but it remains to be seen whether the man will be able to father children, according to The Telegraph.

He was scheduled to undergo a urological procedure.

But doctors carried out an operation on the "wrong site," according to hospital officials.

"We have apologized unreservedly to the patient and we are offering him our full support," Dr. Peter Williams, the hospital's medical director, told reporters. "We greatly regret the distress this has caused him."

The man has not been identified, and health officials have refused to disclose his age because of patient confidentiality.
