Video shows Evans in brawl

A video showing former Texas A&M wide receiver and current Tampa Bay rookie Mike Evans involved in a fight at a Miami nightclub surfaced on the Internet Friday.
TMZ released the video and said the incident took place Saturday night. Evans, who teamed up with A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel in college, turned 21 on Thursday.
The Tampa Bay Times reported that Evans' agent said the incident took place in March, which is significant because Evans would be exempt from the NFL's personal conduct policy because he was not a member of a team at the time.
The video shows Evans outside the Dream Nightclub. He appears to get into a shouting match with nightclub bouncers. Someone, allegedly in his group, triggers a brawl by throwing a punch and Evans can be seen bobbing and weaving. He even jumps across the hood of a car.
Evans, the seventh pick in this year's draft, was trying to get back inside the club to get his girlfriend, his agent alleges. Deryk Gilmore also said Evans was not drinking that night.
No arrests were made.
"The incident in question happened during spring break in March while I was vacationing with friends in Miami," Evans said in a statement. "The issue occurred at the end of the night when someone in my party was approached by a member of the security staff. The situation escalated very quickly from there, but fortunately no one was injured. I regret that this incident that happened nearly six months ago has become a distraction to my team and I look forward to continuing to prepare for the start of my rookie season with the Buccaneers."
Coach Lovie Smith said in a statement: "After speaking with Mike, our feelings about him remain unchanged. We expect him to be an important member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for many years to come and we consider this matter closed."
